All I can say about making an impact is use a good black liquid eyeliner on your top lid, and flick it out at the ends.... if you emphasise your eyes or use a bright blusher, go simple with the lips, use a nude or light pink lip gloss. Don't try to go over the top with every part of your face, or you'll end up looking like a clown!

use a light pinkish plush, and a light pink or clear lip gloss, you ont want to go black lips coz then youll look goth, not punk

I'm going to a wedding soon and although I've picked out my dress, I don't know what to do with my hair. The neckline is a scoop neck so I thought my hair would look best up but my boyfriend loves my hair down and wavy.

OK, here is the scoop: I have one-length hair just past my shoulders. I have bangs, just normal run on the mill bangs. My hair is mostly straight, just a slight wave to it. Medium thickness. It is healthy with little damage. I try to avoid using blow dryers, curling irons, and flat irons because I want to keep it healthy.

I only have a little time in the mornings to style my hair. I am an elementary school teacher, and I need a quick, easy professional hair style. I'd like to keep my length so I can clip my hair back on occasion. But as it is, its very boring.

Any suggestions for a new hair style or cut?

I wanted to get my hair cut and get a new style while I'm at it. I have a round face. I was thinking of getting side swept bangs and cutting my hair to a medium length just past my shoulder, about 1/2 - 1 inch.

The only concern I have it styling it is that my hair is really straight and I don't know if my hair can curl at the ends of the bangs to make it "swept" to the side.

Hi, I have looked at all your pics, you are a very pretty young lady... It would serve you well to go to a stylist and get some personalized help... I think you could go either way, darker or lighter, but going lighter always has it's touch ups! Those darn roots come so fast! No matter which way you go, a good cut/ style would really help! a really strong a-line. short , like at the base of the neck in the back and long in the front, like to the shoulders or longer. its really fun, i love a-line. no bangs required! reds are also fun, especially when they hit the sun just right.

The best thing I can tell you is to wear clothes that you really love and wear makeup that you think looks good. If you go into high school wearing clothes that other girls are wearing and clothes that those girls think are cute, you will start to lose your own sense of style. Since idk how curly 'medium' curly is, I'm gonna kinda 'go with the flow here', lol.

Anyway. Yeah, curly hair makes it slightly difficult to do the whole 'emo hair' thing. If you don't want to straighten your hair every day [totally screws up your hair after a while], then I'd advise long bangs [typical emo thing] like, to your nose or so. Angled at the mid-ends, preferably.

For the rest, i'd say maybe just style it as usual. Keep it semi-long, [short, curly hair sometimes looks strange, unless you 1. work it, or 2. have a great cut.] and get some layers.

A hair problem boofy hair?

Ok so heres the deal Im a 23 yo male My hair is medium length and is sorta curly and a bit thick when its this length. Now this is fine for styling my hair I can style it and Im happy with how it looks. The problem is I have dry skin so when I dont use shampoo on my hair dandruff is sometimes visible but the problem in using shampoo is that my hair just goes boofy and is almost impossible to style.

So I either have to not use shampoo, style my hair perfectly but have dandruff or use shampoo have no dandruff but have no style and boofy hair lol. Surely there must be something I can do maybe something that works similar to shampoo that wont result in my hair becoming boofy and unmanageable. Cheers for any help people.

if boofy mean poofy, than i would suggest using the pantene hair mask.

wash your hair with it and it should be really soft.

when your hair dries, if it's till puffy take a little bit of the hair mask and put it into your hair.

I have the same predicament. Same length hair, same issues.

I went for a while without washing my hair once...like 3 weeks, to see if my scalp would stop flaking and if water would wash it out.

It was getting a tiny bit better, but it was just too much and I stopped.

Now, I wash my hair every Wednesday and Saturday/Sunday with John Freida Curl Around shampoo/conditioner, and a bunch of anti-frizz stuff. The extra few days in between helps my hair from completely drying out as if I were to wash each day. The sebum that the dander sticks to is important to your hair and keeping those days between your washes keeps it at a lower production rate, and thus less dandruff sticking(theoretically...it works for me, mostly).

On the day of or before the wash, the dander starts to appear, but lately my scalp hasn't been all that itchy.

You could always get a straightener, to remove the poof, though it requires time to use, and heat protection products. And cash.

I also have extremely curly hair and when I want the style you are looking for I blow it dry and use a large barrel curling iron or curlers. For more volume, use moose or gel on your roots before blowing dry. You may want to use a different shampoo/conditioner when doing this style but your regular products may work.

If you don't want to do all of that...you can wash it and use a good conditioner. Then put it up, I usually sleep on it and thenyour hair won't be as curly.

try using a cream styling product with just a little hold. work that thru your hair then tip it over and scrunch it with a towel and let it air dry. after it is dry then take a shine serum or some kind of gloss and little finger thru your hair. tip it over again and spray the roots with hair spray. recommended products: redken ringlet(for the cream styling) bio silk or Paul Mitchell shine for the gloss. good luck!!!! merry x-mas

Definitely #2. Number 1 is so 80's and it is definitely more girly worse than that it would look super dorky on a guy. Anyways I would steer clear of perm if I were you, it is a lot of damage for your hair. Just ask for the rocker look it much hotter. it is usually the very opinionated and independent part that puts guys off. for example, if you think like al gore and that humans are the main cause of global warming, and oyu wont listen to any other point of view, then find a guy that agrees with you, or at least listen to what the guy has to say, and recognize that his stance means something to him as well as your stance means something to you.

as for the very independent part, us guys like to think that our girls are available to us regularly. we understand when you cant be, and when you wont be. remember that the male ego is rather fragile, and if you are not careful you can break it like glass, and really mess a guy up.

that said you still have to be yourself, you cant put up a front just because you are afraid that guys wont like you because of it.

1. a chi and some product called Silk by Silk, they sell it at most beauty supply stores, it's only about 5 bucks, and it's great for before you straighten your hair and after to keep it that way

Very easy and cheap, only about 20 bucks but it last for at least 3 to 4 applications.

Print out the last picture of Jamie Lynn and take it to a hair stylist. She'll have to color your hair, probably all over a nice Carmel color, and then do highlights in it. Then she'll use a razor at the bottom of your hair so it isn't straight across, and then long layers around your face. This is such a CUTE hairstyle! Good luck!!

I am the kind of girl who doesn't wear make-up or heels and had never done the whole "hairdresser" thing until I was recently in a wedding as a bridesmaid. I was resistant the whole time, but in the end, I really liked what she did with my hair and I'd like to have my hair in a similar style for my own wedding...

The only thing I *didn't* like was the massive amounts of hairspray that were used in order to keep every strand of hair in perfect place so that nothing would move, even if I shook my head all around.

For my own wedding, I want to have my hair up for the ceremony, but down for the reception. I don't want any hairspray. I want my future husband to be able to touch my hair while we're dancing. What kind of up-do's are possible without hairspray? Should I just get the hair done right before the ceremony? It only has to last through the ceremony, then I'm taking it down anyway. I have medium length hair that goes a little past my shoulders. It is STRAIGHT hair. Medium thick.

I'm sure this is possible, but you'll wan to do some experientation before the big day. I typically wear my hair up on a day-to-day basis, but when I take it down, it's got all the "wrinkles" in it from being up. The same thing happens even if you use a ponytail holder - if you release the holder, you will have a line across your hair where the ring was.

My own suggestion is to choose one way to wear your hair and stick with it for the day. I like the idea of wearing it down, without product, because not only will you look like "you" in the pictures, your husband will be able to touch your hair at the reception and later that night and it will be down, long and beautiful, with no mars on it.

You can do any hairdo with out spray just tell the person doing your hair what you want to look like and no spray what's so ever and you can tell her why but make it very clear that it only needs to last until the end of the wedding. If she is a really good hair dresser she will know exactly what what to do and will not need any spray.

If you wan tit up for only the ceremony you won't need that much hairspray just tell your hairdresser that you don't like it and that you are planning taking your hair down for the reception and you want it to me able to move. You won't be doing any jumping around so your hair should stay in place just be careful and use lots of bobby pins. I suggest bringing a straightener though because with your hair being up you might get some kinks in it so just quickly have your MOH or one of your bride maids run the straightener through it.

If you are not planning on leaving it up long (how long is your ceremony?), there is really no need to put in that much hairspray. You could try going to get your hair done a couple of times in the time leading up to your wedding so you know what is easiest and what suits you/your hair best.

Have you thought about having your hair half up/half down? That way you don't have to worry about changing it after the ceremony. (Unless there is a gap between the ceremony and the reception you might feel rushed)

I have long and the guy I am dating likes long hair. What I am told from most guys is that when girls who have super short hair they arent attracted to because of the fact that they look like a guy. So I would be careful when cutting it length wise. I wouldnt go past the shoulders. And as far as styling your hair, let it go just natural. Thats the prettiest. Let it air dry. Hi! I also have curly hair %26amp; got it cut last week. My hair was quite long, half way down my back but I was getting sick of it %26amp; wanted a new style! So I cut it just abit past my shoulders with lots of layers %26amp; got some highlights to show off my cirls more! I think long hair is gorgeous. I'v got pretty long hair (about half way down my back), but im trying to grow it just a little bit longer. Especially because your hair is curly, i think it would curl up even more at a shorter length. Long curls would look alot better. Trim it every 8 weeks and let it grow. That's what i think anyway...

I had my hair cut short a number of months ago, and love the thicker texture, but regret what little I can do with it. You have much more flexibility with longer hair, which you can either straighten, or leave with its natural curl.

Remember. if you have it shorn short, it'll take quite a while to grow out in length . . .

if you have curly hair...please dont cut it to short unless you know your going to always have it straight...otherwise it will get curlier than ever, frizzier and look way shorter , you will have an afro...im not even kidding....curly hair shouldnt be shorter shoulder length..personally i prefer long hair, my hair is like right under my chest(middle boob area) i love it long even though i dont wear it down that much i know that when i want to go out or look extra special ive got long hair that can be worn curly or straight....its one of my favorite features, i always get compliments on my hair when its worn down..... only thing is it bugs me when its down so i put it up alot...but atleast i have the choice u know...

anyways one thing i suggest though...layers are fun and make ur hair easier to style and give it life... ke sure your shortest layer is not shorter than ur jaw and if u get side bangs or any bags at all, make sure its a thin section not a thick one...my side bangs were way too thick this time and i hate them because i always pin them up now...good luck and have fun

Long hair is gorgeous, but a short haircut can also look great if you have the right facial features for it. Cutting your hair much shorter is a big step and it would be good to use hairstyles software first to try different styles on a picture of yourself to make sure you will realy like the new look.

You seem to like a lot of styles,i suggest you get layers but without cutting the length at the back.Layers always look gorgeous with straight %26amp; curly hair.It still looks good even if you have medium length hair because it doesn't take much length off your hair.

I am getting my hair done tomorrow as well and this is what I am doing. I have naturally brown hair and right now on the top it is a lot of blond highlights. I love this, but I am trying something new. But that is one thing that you can do is just get a bunch of highlights on the top half of your hair and get them pretty blond. What I am doing is going back to my natural color which is brown and I am going to get just some honey colored highlights. I noticed that you said that you have curly hair as well so I. I would recommend getting a deep conditioner done as well. It is nice to do every once in a while. I personally like to do it since I straighten my hair. Well good luck!

I would go with # 2. All three brushes pictured though are round brushes. I am a hairstylist, and a rule of thumb is to use a large barrel brush on long hair. The smaller the barrel, the shorter the hair I am styling. Hope this helps.

blow dry untill about 85% dry then part hair off so only the bottom part is down; blowdry this section with the brush under the hair and dryer over the hair. take down next section and do the same. keep going.

on the top of your head , part from each side and blow dry to each side. this will make a little volume (so it won't look too flat at the crown) so your hair can go from side to side.

It will definitely be harder to straighten your hair when it is shorter. If you plan on ever leaving it curly, it is going to be EVEN shorter %26amp; hard to deal with. I always suggest long layers with curly hair.

alright, so im 15 (asian) i have straight slightly wavy hair, my hair right now is almost medium length and i wanted to grow it out. how can i make it more straight and smooth and what other things can i do to make it look better without it looking like i spent 3 hours on it???? plz give good suggestions on hair products or how to style my hair..... thanks to all!!!

there's alot of good product out there that can help keep your hair frizz-free and stylish with out looking (or smelling) like a girl. I suggest Redkin, which has a men's line. There are others as well. If your hair is thick, try a heavier product like a texturizing paste, or even an anti-frizz cream. Put them in wet, and then let your hair air dry.

If you have the time, using a flat iron for "problem sections" of dry hair is also a good idea, but be sure to use a heat-activated protective product first so you don't burn your hair.

And I say, let it grow. Most asian guys look great with longer hair!

I'm 13, and I have curly/wavy frizzy hair. Its medium long-about mid back length and I need style ideas. I put it in a ponytail a lot, and sometimes I clip the front pieces back in a cute clip. I love when its straightened but it takes a lot of time so I dont do it often. Any ideas?

you could put it into a low side ponytail, that always looks 'chic', or you could put it in two braids, or two (low) pigtails. You could put it into a messy bun by spraying it and then putting it into a pony then wrapping it around itself and then putting an elastci around that. You could add a cute headband or hat.

Blow dry your hair really good it might not get it really straight, but straighter than before.Hairstyles??? Try parting your hair down the middle than braiding your hair on both sides.

You can pull your hair back into a ponytail the mess it up and pull it into a messy bun.

You can pull your hair into pigtails them tease them, be sure to spray them with a good Hair spray so they stay teased. (very cute look.) Add a wide headband too.

You can French braid your hair once to the start of a ponytail the make it a messy bun. Add a headband too.

You can do two French braids on the side of your head them into two messy buns where pigtails would usually start but not that high. (love this look.) Add a headband too.

Leave half of you hair down and then pull the upper half into a ponytail. (another good one.)

If you pull you hair up, leave some hair out of the front (like bangs) to frame your face. Part them either down the middle or off to the side. Which ever suits you best.

Hiya,

I have hair that curls/frizzes if I let it air dry, and it gets worse on humid days.

I do use hair straightening gel on it, and it does make it easier to straighten. If you let it air dry with the straightneing gel, it won't totally straighten it, but it does make the curls "less curly", and it does control the frizz.

The secret is not to comb it out after you put any mousse or gel in it.

One other secret to keeping the frizzes down after you let it air dry, is do keep some hand lotion with you, one that is really simple like a plain aloe vera creme. Rub a little together between your hands, and then smooth your hair down with it. It really works for me!

Should I cut my sides?

I'm a teenage guy and I have longer/medium blonde hair. My bangs go to my eye brows, my back goes down to my neck and my sides go onto my face. Both of my ears are completely covered.

I break out sometimes on my cheeks from the hair and my mom wants me to get the sides cut. I could get the sides shorter but with a longer back/bangs, will this make me look like I'm 5? It was also suggested that I get the sides completely cut so there's no hair over my ears. Would this be a good style to have that and long bangs? What should I do?

honestly, i'd have to say, get it cut... you don't have to get it cut a lot, but whatever you do to the sides, you'll want to do on the back and front, otherwise you'll end up with a mullet look...

I personally love longish hair on guys, Just do what you think will look good, no one can tell you what to do with your hair because they dont know what you look like, but do it if it makes your self feel better. :)

Well, I happen to like a few guys at the moment (who doesn't?) but I really was hoping to find a super cute outfit to wear around them to catch their eye.

nothing outragous though. :P

i want to get my hair cut/styled. my mom said to go get it done in a hairdressers not a barbers. was wonderin how much a wash, cut, and blowdry would cost. (i have medium length, "curlyish" hair) i live ireland so it would have to be in euros. (esimate)! tanx!

PLEASE do not go to ae, hollister, aeropastal, or a and f as ur first fashionista stores!!!!!! U r fifteen and maturing, and should stay away from those stores as much as humanly possible!!! These stores are for people who think that they have fashion wen they throw on a logo t shirt with a moose and flipflops.... gag! so earse ur mind and start all over again.

A store i will HIGHLY recommend to u is forever21. it is big, fashionable, and perfectly priced. They have every style in the world there... except goth. this, i think, would be a perfect first fashionista store u should go to.

to start off ur wordrobe, u must get the basics. At forever21 they have plain cute and simple regular tee shirts. u should get some primary colors such as cobalt blue, canary yellow, plum purple, olive green, and a pink one too. Dont worry! These are very low priced! U should also get a pair of black leggings (not lace at the bottom).

After this step is complete, u r ready to move on. my signature fashion piece, is something cute, chic, elegant, and playful altogether... a cardigan. They can be worn SO many different ways!!! Get bight colored ones that are a bit more fitted, and u can spice up almost any outfit with it! Got one from a vintage shop embrordiered with delicate cream colored pearls, and u can dress up any simple dress or blouse. u must get these also at forever21. I just picked up a few this weekend. and remember that this season, the runways a hot with bright spring colors!

One thing i want to let u know before it is too late is the major high fashion rule of all... at least for me. DO NOT LET UR OUTFITS BE MATCHY MATCHY!!!! This is THE biggest fashion crime u can commit! a pink bag, with pink sunglasses, and a pink top... BARF!! U need to be creative! Im not telling u to completly clash and go tacky... the secret is to match in a secret way. a GREAT outfit would be a bright yellow cardigan, with one of those black and white bold print shirts that say increase the peace or something lyk that, a pair of skinny jeans, metallic flats, and a pair of ray ban look-a-like sunglasses in red (u can get all o the above at forever21).

I think i have told u enough to start u off. I know that u will become a fashionista in no time if u follow my guide lines =)) To keep up to date, subscribe to seventeen, cosmogirl, vogue, elle, and teen vogue magazines. Other high fashion stores i recommend are: urban outfitters, american apparel, nordstrom bp, zara, and h and m. Good luck! and tell me how things go!!!!

just change what you are wearing but as you said for your hair: gradually.. not all at once.. just a little bit at a time.. don't be scared of change because if you like fashion then be fashionable! get a skirt, some leggings, a few new shirts that are more girly then usual, and if you do that by "womanhood" you'll be a whole new you that you enjoy better.. and like once a week start wearing your hair down, then two, and then whenever you feel like it so you get used to it! don't be shy- remember that!!

I don't think there's anyway you could have hair that short and straight without straightening it somehow.

There are really good straightening irons out there. Learn how to use them and it'll be worth it.

You could try chemical straightening, but that never really worked for me. My hair is really curly though, so it might be different for you.

i have really curly hair too, not corkscrew, but wavy like yours. i hated it when im younger but now im 18 and i love it. lots of girls wants curly hair, so were lucky. its unique, and beautiful. also, instead of cutting your hair, if you grow it out, the weight pulls it down and it wont be as curly, so just grow it longer. then you wont have to fry your hair straightening it.

if you do one of these styles, just have them layer the back and leave the front longer and just straighten the front and sides, and scrunch the back. That is what I do, and I have the same hair as you. I wouldn't go too short though, maybe posh but not the other two. Good luck.

If you were my daughter I'd let you do whatever you want with your hair. It's your hair and you should be able to experiment with it if you want. It's only hair and it will grow back if you cut it. If you change the colour, you can always change it back. If you want to grow it out, then you can always cut it later. Hair is no big deal. My daughter is 16 and her hair is normally medium brown. It hasn't been that colour in at least 4 years. She had blonde for awhile, now it's black. She's had a purple streak put in, she's had a blonde strand put in (with the black hair), she had long hair, she's had short. It's a way for her to express herself...a non-permanent way. Teens go through all sorts of phases. She also has had her belly button pierced since she was 13 and got a tattoo (in memory of her day). She has an industrial ear piercing too (I don't like it much though).

If you can afford it, you should buy a straightening iron. Mine cost about $45 dollars but some are cheaper and some are more expensive. I use mine because my hair gets frizzy, especially when it is rainy or very humid outside.
