Fisto f all Im a guy. My hair is medium length and very straight. I dont like to use normal gel because it ends up all squished to my head. What product will let my style it and provide hold for the entire day and at the same time look like i havent used product. I dont want the wet look.

if your hair is very straight, you can get a super cool cut that will not require you to use much product. As far as getting your hair to look as if you are not using any product, I would suggest a light-weight paste. Try Toni %26amp; Guy products. That is what I buy for my boyfriend. He has similar hair like yours and their products are not too expensive. Just go into the salon and tell them what you are looking for - you can try them on your hair, too. Trust me, you will be hooked! :0)

Hey,

Actually you dont need to condition for this hairstyle b/c it has volume in it. So heres what you can do to get this hairstyle.

1st. with wet hair apply a quater size of gel to your hair.

2nd then get a brush and brush down the little bit of frizz on top of your head (when your hair is wet)

3rd then blow dry your hair. (using your fingers as a comb) start styling the front layers down to the front of your forehead.

4th Then (using your fingers) comb your hand threw your hair and then move your hand back and forth on the sides and the back. (this will add the layered look)

5th Finish this look by spraying some hair spray any will do but i suggest sauve or aussie they work great and last for a very long time. Good luck! and i hope i helped you out :-) Merry christmas!

Haircut style! Help!?

I am wanting to cut my hair a medium length. It's thick and about 5 inches below my shoulders. (about middle of of my upper back). I am also dying it reddish brown, kind of like Miley Cyrus. I have a round/heart shaped face and haven't found a style I really like. Can you suggest any styles, and if you have pics, that'd be great! Thanks!

What would be a good hair style for me?

I have medium length, dark blone hair the is extremley thick.

It is kind of "jagged" in the front (almost like poorly cut layers) and I have these little "wings" at the bottom that swoosh out in all different directions.

What do you think would be a good haircut that may fix these problems?

I think you should go to someone that really knows how to cut professionally. Make sure it's someone that is good about cutting thick hair in layers. I have thick hair myself, and lots of times people will try to "thin" out your hair, and I think that's a bad idea. The only place that might need to be "thinned" out is if you have bangs. Otherwise, you should take advantage of the thickness God's given you, and have them cut your hair in nice, long layers. You can invest in some large hot rollers (the largest ones you can find, Clairol makes a good set for about $25). If you just use the larger ones and roll them upward and back towards the back of your head, starting from the top of your head downwards, you'll get that moviestar, glam looking hair. If you put a little bit of hairspray in it before you roll it and keep them in about fifteen minutes, then after taking them out, just use your fingers and lightly fluff out your locks, then spray, you'll look marvelous! I think the key is just finding someone that's talented in cutting long nice layers for thick hair. Then styling it nicely with large hot rollers always looks very pretty. You can always pull it up into a clip and have the curls fall downwards for an evening look, or even wear a velvet headband and poof up the top behind the headband in the crown area for a retro look. Just have fun and enjoy! :-)

First of all if it's thick then get it thinned just ask your hair stylist to thin out your hair. Get long layers because it doesn't take away from the length but it helps you control your hair better. For those little wings get a straightener and straighten them and I suggest getting a straightening spray or mouse to use while using your straightener. Walmart straightener will work to try it out if you don't already have one.

i have brown medium length hair thats kinda thin kinda frizzy kinda shiny and kinda wavy. yeah its all in between. but i want to know the best...

1. leave in conditioners ( to make my hair shiny and healthy)

2. straightener (ceramic plates)

3. wave enhancer (so i can have the really scrunched hair look like idk maybe some sort of gel or mouse or hairspray that will actually work all day)

and anything else that u think really works.

right now im using brilliant brunette shampoo nad conditioner. i think it works great i just dont have the " right" styling products

cuz if i just leave my hair to air dry its really wavy but shinier and more healthy looking. i dont have time for that in the morning so i have to blow dry or try nad scrunch it but i dont know how to keep that wet look in your hair ..=/

mines wavy, thick, coarse and can get frizzy -

1- switching up shampoos and cond. every few weeks helps - i have a few i like from cheap to exp.

2- for hair like mine, do not wash it everyday ( it needs the oil ) if i wash it everyday / it seems so much more frizzy

3- use a thick comb when wet to get the tangles out ( or your fingers ) brushing can cause damage, more frizzing, esp. when dry.

I bought a exp. ( 100.00 ) straightener , well worth the money

if i want to wear curly, i use my fingers to untangle and tip my head over ( spray, scrunch , scrunch and more scrunching! ) I just use Paul Mitchell soft spray gel - and when you are done / add a shine spray

for the leave in conditioners, I really recommend semi di lino products...They are just awesome. You will find a lot of varieties from which you will be able to choose from

As for the ceramic plates, I use CHI and most salons do...It's also very good, although I don't recommend people to use it on a daily basis....As any ceramic plates will damage the hair at the end no matter what you do....Good luck!

In my professional opinion, you need an antifrizz conditioner like the Redken Smooth Down. Then when you go to style you should always use a smoothing product that protects your hair from the heat at the same time. The Redken Heat glide is awesome! A great iron is either the Rusk or the Chi flat iron, both run about the same price of $130. As far as a wave enhancer, I would recommend the Redken Ringlet, it's light and won't be crunchy and weigh your thin hair down!

Don't use gel, mousse, or hairspray. Use a pomade or a cream so your hair doesn't harden. Don't use too much though, it'll get greasy. Make sure your hair is completely dry before styling it, then rub the product evenly on your hands. Comb your fingers through your hair and style it with your hands...for extra hold use a very flexible spray.
